I had an interesting conversation with a colleague at last week’s 100th Anniversary party for The New Yorker. I should perhaps not use the word “conversation” because the music was so loud that my ears might have been bleeding a bit and all human interaction required a kind of shrieking that has me still, several days later, croaking like a bullfrog.
