The other day, I finished my book. Wait, let me say that again, with a little more gusto: I FINISHED MY BOOK! I hadn’t expected it. I knew I was approaching the finish line but I pictured myself hunched over my desk for many more weeks—even, perhaps, a month. I was dead-set on finishing it this fall. Once you turn in a manuscript, it takes about a year for it to get edited and prepared and printed, so turning it in this fall promises a release in Fall 2025, a good time to birth a book, unencumbered by national election news. It was an enticing goal.
